Yoga and meditation for Chaotic Times

Dear Friends,

Thank the universe for new shoots of green grass. The cacophony of birdsongs in the morning. And Spring Equinox.

As the world continues to turn, the times remain dark here in our country.

To practice yoga is to acknowledge suffering. Regardless of what some yoga teachers say, it is impossible to connect with your own spirit, without connecting to all Spirit.

Dating back to the death of my father in 2013, my yoga practice has been my foundation for resilience. I teach from a place of humility, and only hope to share the practices that have helped me along the way.

With that in mind, I have a new class starting at West End Yoga in April.

Wednesday nights at 7pm, in person and virtual attendance available.

“Yoga and Meditation for Chaotic Times”

If you are feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated by the state of the world, then this class is for you.

From the website;

“In this class we will explore tools to help us navigate stress and find moments of calm through the lens of yoga history, philosophy and asana.

30 minutes of slow, gentle and intentional movement mixed with 30 minutes of breath work, meditation, reflection and mindfulness.

You can expect floor work, chair yoga, introspection, journaling, mindfulness exercises, qi gong, singing, humming, music and even the occasional arts and crafts.

Class will include the exploration of the  Eight Limbs of Yoga, The Yamas and Niyamas, Breath and the nervous system, as well as Yoga history and Philosophy and how it relates to the current day climate.

No experience necessary. A completely accessible practice. This is not a series but instead a collection of stand alone classes.

We grow together.”

Also, because I believe in letting people decide up front what they wish to consume in a class, I will be posting updates between Sunday and Wednesday about that weeks class topic on BCY social media. Yes, Yoga and Meditation for Chaotic Times will be replacing my Wednesday night gentle yoga. More of an evolution, rather than a replacement. I can only teach humbly from where I am, and this is where I am.

From the bottom of my heart I believe that COMMUNITY is our way through these trying times.

I hope to see you there. Truly.

Jenny
